Synopsis: Hood and Rachel are called to investigate when someone attacks a DARPA funded lab and kills a researcher and several chimpanzees.

Episode Summary
Jacob Hood and Rachel Young are asked to investigate an experiment funded by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). Col. Henry Brooks asks them to investigate what appears to be an experiment gone awry.

Dr. Bruse Nesic (Judd Nelson) is conducting drug research on chimpanzees that may one day be used to improve the fighting capabilities of US soldiers. However, it seems as though one of the chimps has gone astray and attacked and killed all of the other chimps involved in the experiment. The chimp has also severely injured one of the program's vetrenarians.

The chimp disappears and is found dead next to the body of an animal control worker who had been looking for him. Hood then figures out that the scene they've stumbled upon was staged.

Hood then begins investigating more of Nesic's data, leading him to conclude that Nesic has also ben running the drug therapy on a human, and that human solider has become violent and gone AWOL from the military.

Hood and Rachel track down the missing solider and are able to talk him down from his instinctive violent response.
