Synopsis: Children in a small Georgia town are mysteriously dying...from heart attacks
Eleventh Hour Episodes - Cardiac

Episode Summary
Jacob Hood and Rachel Young go to Pooler, GA where three eleven-year-old boys have recently died from what appear to be heart attacks. Parents in the town are nervous and everyone wants to know what is killing their young boys. After ruling out environmental issues such as the carbon monoxide leak at the school, Hood soon discovers that it is some form of poison causing the deaths, but he must determine what the poison is and how the children are getting a hold of it.

Stephen, the son of the hospital administrator, falls ill, which leads Hood to determine that the toxin is produced by a toad that is not native to the town. A local woman, Lizzie Summers, breeds the toads to harvest the toxin for use as a medical treatment, which tends to be effective in small doses.

After exploring this theory, Hood learns that none of the boys had this toxin in their system, so this wasn't the cause of their heart attacks. While paying a visti to Lizzie, Hood notices that Foxglove grows wild in the fields. Foxglove contains digitalis, a drug that is known to produce heart attacks in high doses. Oddly, all of the boys test negative for digitalis as well. Hood is stumped.

Hood eventually has the idea to test the victims' DNA. He discovers that their DNA is from a single source and that the true killer has replaced their blood samples with his/her own. Hood then had a brillant idea as how to find the killer and prevent further deaths.
